1. Data protection at a glance
The protection of your personal data is important to us. We process personal data only insofar as this is necessary for the operation of this website, the handling of requests, the preparation and execution of transport and forwarding services and to fulfil legal obligations.
2. Controller

3. Accessing the website and server log files
When you access our website, the hosting provider processes technically necessary information. This may include in particular the IP address, date and time of access, the requested page or resource, referrer URL, browser type, operating system and technical access data. The processing serves the secure and stable operation of the website and the detection and defence of technical attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Hosting provider: Vercel Inc., USA. Server location: Frankfurt am Main region, Germany. Storage period of the server logs: only as long as necessary for operation and security (usually a few days). As Vercel Inc. is a US company, processing in a third country (USA) cannot be excluded. The transfer is safeguarded by a Data Processing Agreement and appropriate safeguards (EU Standard Contractual Clauses / EU-US Data Privacy Framework).
4. Contact form and transport requests
A transport request form is available on our website. When you submit the form, your input is processed server-side via our website (an API route at our hosting provider Vercel) and sent by email service to our mailbox info@emerald-cargo24.de. Depending on the request, we may process in particular your name, company, email address, phone number, pick-up and delivery location, date details, shipment information, dimensions, weight, special transport requirements and other information you voluntarily provide. For sending the email we use the service Resend (Resend, Inc., USA) as a processor. This may involve processing in a third country (USA); it is safeguarded by a Data Processing Agreement and appropriate safeguards (EU Standard Contractual Clauses / EU-US Data Privacy Framework). Your request is subsequently received and stored in our email mailbox at the email provider IONOS SE (Germany). The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR insofar as the processing is necessary for pre-contractual measures or a contract; otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. We store your request for as long as necessary to handle it or as long as statutory retention obligations exist.
5. Contact by email or phone
If you contact us by email or phone, we process the personal data you provide to handle your request and for any follow-up questions. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR insofar as the contact aims at a contract or pre-contractual measures; otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR insofar as there is a legitimate interest.
6. Transport and business data
Insofar as a business relationship or transport order arises from a request, we process the data required for this purpose for the initiation and execution of the contract, dispatching, communication, invoicing, documentation and the fulfilment of statutory retention obligations. In the course of transport handling, personal data may – insofar as necessary for execution – be transmitted to engaged or commissioned transport partners, carriers, service providers or other parties involved in order processing. Data is only passed on insofar as there is a legal basis for this and the data is necessary for the respective purpose.
7. Email communication and business addresses
If you contact Emerald Cargo 24 via a business email address, the transmitted data is processed to handle and document the business communication. The processing may also be necessary for pre-contractual measures, the performance of a contract and the fulfilment of statutory retention obligations.
8. Cookies and local storage
This website sets no tracking or marketing cookies. It uses only technically necessary entries in your browser's local storage (localStorage): • "cookieConsent" – stores that you acknowledged the cookie notice so that it does not reappear on every visit. • "preferredLocale" – stores your chosen language (German/English). These entries are required for the operation or for explicitly requested functions and never leave your device. No consent is required for this (§ 25 (2) TDDDG). Analytics (see the following section) is cookieless.
9. External services, content and analytics
This website is designed to minimise data. Fonts and videos are self-hosted (no requests to Google Fonts or similar services). No map is embedded; the address link merely opens Google Maps in a new tab if you actively click it. Analytics (Vercel Analytics): For anonymous analytics we use Vercel Analytics from Vercel Inc. (USA). The measurement is cookieless – without cookies and without cross-site tracking; no personal profiles are created. Aggregated usage data is processed (e.g. pages viewed, referrer, device type, approximate region of origin). The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a needs-based design of the website). For processing in the USA, the safeguards named in section "3. Accessing the website and server log files" apply. Should further third-party services (e.g. analytics, map or captcha services) be integrated in future, this privacy policy will be supplemented accordingly.
10. Recipients and transport partners
When handling transport requests and orders, it may be necessary to pass on data to qualified transport partners and other service providers. This may be necessary in particular for dispatching, pick-up, execution, delivery, status communication and invoicing of an order. Only the data required for the respective purpose is passed on.
11. Storage period
We store personal data only for as long as is necessary for the respective purposes or as long as statutory retention obligations exist. Once the respective purpose no longer applies or statutory retention periods expire, the data is deleted or – insofar as necessary – blocked.
12. Your rights
Subject to the statutory requirements, you have in particular the right to information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing and data portability. You may also object to the processing of personal data insofar as the statutory requirements for this are met. You may revoke consent you have given with effect for the future.
13. Right to lodge a complaint
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority about the processing of your personal data. The competent authority is in particular the supervisory authority of the federal state in which our company is based, or another supervisory authority competent under the statutory provisions.
14. Data security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure.
15. Updates to this privacy policy
We reserve the right to adapt this privacy policy if technical systems, functions, legal requirements or processing operations change.
Note
This privacy policy reflects the current technical state of the website: hosting via Vercel (Frankfurt region), cookieless analytics via Vercel Analytics, a server-side transport request form sending email via Resend to the IONOS mailbox, and self-hosted fonts and videos. If further services are integrated or processing operations change in future, this policy will be adapted accordingly. A final legal review by a qualified party is recommended.
